Camp Zavarian

Camp Zavarian at Crescenta Valley (CV) Meher & Satig Der Ohanessian Youth Center will be having it’s 17th annual summer day camp This year. The camp will be for children ages 5-13 years olds and will be for 7 weeks beginning June 17-Aug 2, 2024. Please note that the camp will be closed for the 4th of July holiday from Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th. 

The camp will be directed and supervised by Mrs. Arpi Dabbaghian, who has been leading the summer camp for many years. 
The mission of Camp Zavarian is to provide a safe, social, and educational environment to promote the Armenian heritage, culture, traditions, and language through immersion in a nurturing environment. The program will also help cultivate social skills and character building while enjoying a variety of activities, such as zumba, yoga, Armenian folk dance, drama, arts & crafts, cooking, sports games, and swimming. Our on site pool is supervised by a certified lifeguard.  
The summer camp operates daily from 8AM to 5PM. Weekly tuition will be $380 per child and daily $100 per child. Tuition includes healthy and nutritious meals that are served daily including breakfast, lunch, and snacks. 

Due to limited capacity of the center please reserve your child(ren)’s spot by filling out the online application at Application Form. Please make sure to use a separate application for each child.

For more than a dozen consecutive years, the Crescenta Valley (CV) Meher & Satig Der Ohanessian Youth Center is happy to conduct a 7-week day-camp for area children starting June 20 through August 5, 2022. The camp will take place under the supervision of experienced Director Mrs. Arpi Dabbaghian and several assistants.

The camp’s mission is to allow for a fun, friendly and educational environment in a safe location. The day camp will be held at our Center for children ages 5 and up. Children will enjoy various activities ranging from swimming (in the presence of a lifeguard), acting, cooking, children’s yoga, dance routines, games, arts & crafts. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks will be served each day. The language of instruction is Armenian.

Summer camp will be open on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Parents who need to pick-up their children late can benefit from the available extended hours for an additional fee of $10 per occurrence or $30 per week. The weekly camp attendance fee is $350 per child per week ($280 for the 4-day 3rd week) or $90 per child per day.

Due to capacity limitations, only pre-paid and accepted applications can be assured a space at the camp.

We also accept high-school students as volunteer Jr. Assistants and fill out their community service hours in return (for the hours they have volunteered at the camp).
